PUBLIC PROGRAMS

 

When you take science off the screen and put it on a stage, something like up-close magic happens. As a live science event producer and programmer, I bring scientists, artists, and curious audiences into the same room to explore big existential ideas—mixing conversation, multimedia, and live performance.

At Pioneer Works, an artist and scientist-led cultural center in Brooklyn, I select public program themes alongside Director of Sciences Janna Levin, hunt down and book leading researchers, script the narrative flow, and collaborate with event hosts on questions. To turn standard panels into immersive experiences, I produce custom video reels, visual backdrops, and design hands-on activations—ranging from quantum mechanics experiments to heart dissections.

At the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI), I created and produced two live variety shows (Creature Feature and First Contact) bridging Hollywood cinema and hard science. By pairing scientists, filmmakers, and writers on stage, we explored the real-world biology and astrophysics behind iconic film monsters and alien encounters. For each event, I collaborated with the speakers to create custom visuals for their talks. Because I approach event production as a director, editor, and animator, these public programs feel like watching a movie instead of a PowerPoint presentation.
